Shim Chang-min (최강창민), a member of the South Korean boy group TVXQ (동방신기), has been deeply involved in his private life as a father since his son's birth. He recently appeared on the variety show "My Little Old Boy" (미운 우리 새끼), where he candidly shared updates about his 5-year-old son. He not only sweetly praised his son's cuteness but also proudly stated that the child is a spitting image of himself. He even recounted an incident where he had to catch his son's poop barehanded during a diaper change, a hilariously real parenting moment that left the studio guests in stitches.

On November 1, Shim Chang-min appeared as a special MC on the SBS variety show "My Little Old Boy." During the broadcast, Kim Hee-chul's (김희철) mother couldn't help but sigh, "Chang-min is already married, and his child is in kindergarten, but our son..." She trailed off mid-sentence, drawing laughter from the set. Shim Chang-min humorously responded, "Even within the same company, lives can progress through different stages."

When talking about his son, Shim Chang-min couldn't hide his overflowing paternal love, revealing that his child is now 5 years old. He chuckled, saying, "It's really tough, but he's incredibly cute." He proudly added that his son looks very much like him, sharing an amusing anecdote. Once, when he wasn't with his son, the child was walking alone and was coincidentally spotted by a company employee. The employee, who had never met the child before, immediately contacted Chang-min's manager, saying, "I think I saw Chang-min's son!" Chang-min laughed, "Even I think he really looks like me when I see him."

Beyond sharing his son's adorable moments, Shim Chang-min also revealed some of the chaotic realities of fatherhood. Host Seo Jang-hoon (서장훈) mentioned hearing that Chang-min once caught his son's poop barehanded, prompting Chang-min to recount the dramatic scene. He explained that he was changing his son's diaper and thought he was done. However, the child hadn't finished pooping. Just as he removed and folded the diaper, his son unexpectedly pooped again.

He helplessly stated, "If I just watched, wouldn't it fall directly onto the floor?" In that emergency, there was no time to think; his hand instinctively reached out to catch it, leading to continuous laughter from the studio.

After hearing the story, host Shin Dong-yup (신동엽) also shared that when changing diapers, sometimes children suddenly pee. Shim Chang-min immediately nodded in agreement: "It really happens! When you're about to fold the diaper, if you feel something about to spray out, you have to quickly block it with the diaper you're folding, or else you have to use your hand. Otherwise, it'll be a big mess!" His words sent the guests into fits of laughter, giving everyone a glimpse into the idol father's rarely seen, disheveled daily life.

Shim Chang-min married a non-celebrity woman in 2020 and welcomed his son in October 2022. While he rarely discusses his family life publicly, this time he not only openly shared updates on his son's growth but also revealed hilarious diaper-changing mishaps. From limitless doting on his son to personally handling parenting emergencies, he fully showcased his "son-fool" side.
