Netizens reveal FIFTY FIFTY's dormitory is better than those of big companies, including New Jeans and GFRIEND!

In the ongoing contract dispute involving the girl group FIFTY FIFTY, recent developments have garnered significant attention. A netizen recently shared a series of pictures comparing the past dormitories of various girl groups, including NewJeans, which belongs to a large-scale planning company, and GFRIEND, Lovelyz, and Secret, which are associated with small and medium-sized planning companies. These images have sparked interest among netizens. According to ATTRAKT, the management company responsible for handling FIFTY FIFTY, the group's representative, Jeon Hong Joon, has provided the members with a dormitory located in the Gangnam area. The dormitory consists of three rooms, two bathrooms, and has a monthly rent of 3.3 million won. Additionally, the company has also been covering tutoring fees for various subjects for the group members. The girl group GFRIEND, managed by SOURCE MUSIC, made their debut in 2015. The group consists of members Yerin, SinB, Yuju, Eunha, Sowon, and Umji. In an episode of their reality show titled "One Fine Day with GFRIEND," the members revealed their dormitory, which featured two bunk beds. This episode provided fans with a glimpse into the living arrangements of the six members, who had previously appeared on the show. Lovelyz, a girl group under Woollim Entertainment, made their debut in 2014. The group consists of members Ye In, Kei, Ji Ae, Su Jeong, Mi Joo, Ji Soo, Jin, and Baby Soul. In the 2015 broadcast of "Shin Dong Yup's Bachelor Party," Lovelyz revealed that all eight members shared a single room in their dormitory for sleeping purposes. This provided insight into their living arrangements at the time. The group Secret, consisting of members Hana, Sunhwa, Jieun, and Hyosung, made their debut in 2009. In the past variety show "Invincible Youth," the members revealed their semi-basement dormitory, which surprised many netizens. The disclosure of their living conditions generated a strong reaction among viewers, who expressed shock at the revelation. The up-and-coming girl group NewJeans, composed of members Minji, Haerin, Hanni, Danielle, and Hyein, made their debut last year under the management of HYBE. During their appearance on the tvN variety show "Yoo Quiz," the group members mentioned that they are currently residing in a dormitory with two rooms.  Following the revelation of past dormitories belonging to idols from small and medium-sized agencies, including a comparison with the dormitory of the popular girl group, NewJeans, managed by a large agency, netizens shared their thoughts. Comments such as "The idols I support also reside in 3-4 person rooms with bunk beds," and "Even major agencies don't provide such dormitories," were expressed. Some netizens referenced BTS's early days, mentioning that the group had only two rooms, with one allocated for the manager and the other for the members. In contrast, there were observations that FIFTY FIFTY's dormitory appeared to be more favourable compared to New Jeans'.

Dispatch exposes new update in FIFTY FIFTY controversy: Producer suspected of impersonating CEO and composer based on transcribed audio.K-Pop

Dispatch exposes new update in FIFTY FIFTY controversy: Producer suspected of impersonating CEO and composer based on transcribed audio.

Today, Korean media Dispatch has once again released recorded audio regarding the FIFTY FIFTY girl group controversy. In their report, Dispatch strongly criticises The Givers' representative, Ahn Sung Il, accusing him of fraudulently impersonating the CEO of ATTRAKT, the management company for FIFTY FIFTY. According to the contents revealed by Dispatch, Ahn stated, "ATTRAKT paid $9,000 (12 million Korean won) for the rights of the record producer's connectivity, which is the right of the record producer, while the copyright belongs to the creator of the work." However, Dispatch sarcastically commented, "He spoke quite smoothly for a long time, but is there a hidden meaning behind his words?" In response, Dispatch reached out to the Music Copyright Association for clarification. It was confirmed that the connection rights of "Cupid" belong to ATTRAKT, but The Givers, the production company, have officially signed a rights transfer contract with the author, paid the necessary fees, and obtained the rights. Although Representative Ahn admitted to the copyright transfer after the fact, he insisted that it was not purchased with ATTRAKT's money. However, Dispatch emphasized that the source of the money is not the main concern. They raised a counter question, stating that if the entire promotion of FIFTY FIFTY was handed over to Representative Ahn, it implies that The Givers are working for ATTRAKT. In addition, Dispatch highlighted the copyright distribution of "Cupid" with 28.65% for Ahn Sung-il, 66.85% for The Givers, 4% for Baek, and 0.5% for Song Ji-kyung (Kina). Furthermore, Dispatch criticised Ahn's deceptive recording, stating that the three-month period mentioned by Ahn has already elapsed, questioning why he misled the representative about the timeframe. Dispatch described Ahn's behaviour as close to fraudulent. Finally, Dispatch raised the question, "Even if money was paid to purchase the copyright from the composer, can one claim to be the composer?" A representative from a copyright association responded, "This is nearly unheard of." A well-known idol songwriter criticised the situation as an outrageous trick and even questioned its authenticity. In addition, representatives from the Korean Music Copyright Association and current composers emphasized, "Merely purchasing the rights from the original author does not entitle you to remove the composer's name. Paying for the rights does not make you the composer. Typically, the composer's name should be written directly under the 'author's name', while the name of the copyright owner should be written under the 'rights name'. That is the correct approach." Upon hearing the news, netizens expressed overwhelming support for Representative Jeon: "We hope Representative Jeon wins the lawsuit! The whole of South Korea is cheering for you!" "Thank goodness there was an automatic recording to support Representative Jeonㅠㅠ We stand by you and support you!" "It's truly unfortunate that Representative Jeon had to go through thisㅠㅠ We're here to support you!"
