Hwang Jung-min Private Life Dispute Deepens as Female Fan Accused of Stalking Draws Attention
The dispute over the private life of South Korean actor Hwang Jung-min (황정민) and a female fan identified as K, who is accused of stalking and harassment, continues to escalate. As the controversy grows, the two sides have traded claims about their interactions, while K’s appearance has unexpectedly become a focus of public discussion, sparking debate online.
On July 31, the YouTube channel “Entertainment President Lee Jin-ho” (연예뒤통령 이진호) uploaded a video titled “Even His Son Was Dragged In? The Chilling Truth Behind Actor Hwang Jung-min’s Exposé Battle,” offering an in-depth analysis of the case.
In the video, YouTuber and former entertainment reporter Lee Jin-ho (이진호) focused on K, who has been drawn into the controversy surrounding Hwang’s private life. Lee said K is 40 years old and, though she is 15 years younger than Hwang, “does not look her actual age at all.” He described her as a woman with striking looks and said she approached Hwang with a notable appearance and strong presence.
Lee said the case has drawn so much attention not only because of the private exchanges between the two, but also because K was not an ordinary fan. He argued that K gradually crossed the line from ardent fan and tried to build a more personal relationship with Hwang, while Hwang also did not completely cut off contact. According to Lee, Hwang had drinks with her alone, kept in touch privately and engaged in some conversations that could easily be misunderstood, making the situation more complicated.
However, Lee stressed that those interactions do not justify the alleged stalking that followed. K is said to have sent threatening messages to Hwang’s underage son and even gone to the child’s graduation performance, conduct described as clear stalking and harassment that shocked observers.
As K’s appearance and background became public, Korean internet users joined a heated debate, leaving comments such as, “This is a textbook case of an actor being targeted by a good-looking sasaeng fan,” “No matter how pretty someone is, stalking is stalking and can never be justified,” and “Even outstanding looks cannot cover up the facts of a crime.” Many said the focus of the case should remain on the alleged stalking and harassment, not on the person’s appearance.
