Popular HYBE boy group TWS has recently become embroiled in an airport security controversy, with related videos rapidly spreading online. In the footage, security personnel responsible for the group's safety were accused of being rude to ordinary citizens and even allegedly shouting, "Take their passports," drawing widespread condemnation from netizens and fans.
A video of TWS's security personnel on duty at the airport recently sparked heated discussion. In the clip, a member of the public was taking a selfie when the TWS entourage passed by. Unexpectedly, a security guard suddenly stepped forward and directly covered the person's phone camera, preventing them from filming.
The individual later stated, "I had no idea who any idol was. I was just taking a selfie at the airport, and a security guard suddenly ran over and covered my camera. Why? Who are they? I later found out it was a group called TWS."
After the video was released, many netizens felt the security guard's actions were unnecessary, especially since it occurred in a public airport space accessible to everyone.
Angry netizens commented, "Wow... they're no different from thugs," "By what right do they snatch someone's passport? Are they a gang?" "Seizing someone's passport is a serious illegal act," "A passport is an identity document; how can they just snatch it away? Not even the police can do that; they should call the police directly," "First it was secretly filming glasses, now it's snatching passports?" "What are they even talking about? Why snatch passports? Are idols above the law?" "Idols have been doing this for years, and fans never report it, so it keeps happening. It's truly absurd," "This isn't the first or second time idol security has done this. Why are they never punished? It's illegal, yet they act so self-righteous. It's unbelievable," and "They really think they are the law. They're crazy."
Others questioned, "Why treat a middle-aged man like that? Did TWS book the entire airport?" Some netizens sarcastically added, "Then take a private jet... Do they really think a middle-aged man would be a sasaeng fan?"

In addition to blocking ordinary citizens from filming, the security personnel's attitude towards TWS fans in the video also ignited another wave of anger. One fan angrily stated, "Excuse me, by what right do you threaten to take fans' passports? Are you crazy? I was really scared when I heard them directly shout, 'Take their passports.'" Another fan commented, "I'm also a K-pop fan, but if I were treated like that, I might actually be angry enough to want to grab a gun." Others questioned the security guards' authority: "Fans are also paying passengers on a flight; by what right do they take their passports?"
In the video, security personnel can even be clearly heard shouting, "Take their passports!"
The related videos continue to spark discussion on social media, with many netizens arguing that even when maintaining idol airport safety and order, security should handle situations reasonably rather than adopting an overly aggressive attitude towards ordinary passengers or fans.
