K-PopITZY's Lia to extend hiatus during upcoming album release and world tour
In September this year, ITZY member Lia, feeling extremely nervous and anxious about her current schedule, sought consultation and underwent examinations. Following this, the hospital recommended that she needed to stabilize her condition and undergo treatment, consequently pausing her activities related to music program comebacks. Recently, the hip-hop queen and rapper Jessi has been promoting her new song, and Girls' Generation's Tiffany had to halt her activities due to health reasons. With an increasing number of celebrities raising health concerns, fans are becoming more and more worried. ITZY member Lia's health raises concerns as JYP Entertainment announced on the 17th that LIA has been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and is currently focusing on treatment. After thorough discussions among the members, they have decided to prioritize her health recovery. Therefore, she will not be participating in the upcoming new album production and the world tour. Lia posted a handwritten letter on ITZY's official account, stating, "I want to directly convey a message to the worried MIDZYs (official fan name). After much consideration, I was ultimately unable to participate in the album production and world tour this time. I wish to focus on my health recovery first, so please don't worry about me." She then continued, "I'm doing well, and to repay the support MIDZYs have given me during this time, I will become healthy and return in a better shape." Jessi, who made her comeback last month, did not participate in music shows due to being in poor condition. At that time, although Jessi took part in radio schedules, she did not participate in music promotional programs due to her poor state. After signing an exclusive contract with their agency More Vision, Jessi and Park Jae-beom's new song release has garnered a lot of attention and high expectations. However, Jessi, due to being in poor condition, has asked for fans' understanding for not engaging in promotional activities for the music. Girls' Generation member Tiffany is also taking a temporary break. On the 14th of this month, her management company stated: "Tiffany recently underwent a checkup due to feeling unwell. Based on the advice received from the medical team that she needs ample stability and rest, it has been indicated that her activities will be temporarily halted." Tiffany will resume her activities by hosting the "33rd Seoul Music Awards" in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 2nd.
K-PopITZY's Lia temporarily suspends her activities!
ITZY member Lia posted a handwritten letter on ITZY's official channel today, stating that she will temporarily suspend activities due to health issues. Fans are also expressing their concerns. Lia wrote in her letter: "Our MIDZYs (Official name of ITZY's fans), you must have been surprised to hear the news today! Whenever I feel a bit unwell, MIDZY would worry about me. I know you must be heartbroken and sad to hear this news. But at the same time, MIDZY understands and trusts me more than anyone else. Therefore, I know everyone will understand me and wait for me. That's why I gathered courage this time." Lia also mentioned the time she has spent with her members since debut: "Having the same dream with my members, it's been 6 years together unknowingly! Being able to come this far, it's all thanks to our members and MIDZY." In her handwritten letter, Lia mentioned her mental state, "Although the time was very precious, I gradually lost myself for the sake of improvement. Because the members and MIDZY always cherish me more than anyone else, I also only want to give them love and happiness. And because of that, I think I now need a little time to learn to love myself and compensate myself." Lia then said, "In order to repay our MIDZYs for their waiting and worry, I will return in good health. I am always thankful to everyone. I love you guys." Additionally, after debuting in 2019, Lia is taking a break from her activities for the first time in four years. Prior to the official announcement of her hiatus, Lia did not participate in official group schedules such as MBC's "SHOW! Music Core" and fan signing events due to health reasons.
K-PopITZY's YouTube livestream sparks fan outrage due to extremely low video quality!
Recently, a netizen shared screenshots from ITZY's dinner livestream on YouTube. Despite being captured at 720p resolution, the image quality in these screenshots was remarkably poor and often blurry, making it challenging to identify the members of ITZY clearly. Netizens have raised concerns not only about the screenshots but also about the consistently low video resolution in the clips. It has been noted that fans have been voicing these concerns for several years, calling for improvements, yet the company has not acknowledged or addressed these issues. Netizens emphasized that this was a live broadcast recorded in Korea, and the ITZY members were not located overseas. They expressed concern that if the members were to do a live broadcast overseas, the video quality could be even worse. The related post also sparked heated discussions among netizens, with comments such as: "Is this a problem with YouTube or the company? Is it because the equipment is too bad??", "Is this really 720p?! It feels like 280p, it's really serious! When can the picture quality improve?" "Why are they ignoring this issue when the members aren't even hosting the show themselves but simply broadcasting live while watching the screen? Don't the staff monitor it? What's going on?" "Even regular folks doing YouTube live streams have better quality... What kind of equipment are they using to film? This is astonishing! I can't believe they can broadcast like this!" "What's going on here... Even idols who debuted in 2008 had better music video quality." "Honestly, it's worse than what we had 10 years ago." "Is it a location with a poor internet signal, or are they overseas? The fact that an idol's YouTube livestream has such low quality is genuinely concerning!"
