South Korean actress Ji Ye-eun (지예은) and Vata (바타), leader of the renowned dance crew WE DEM BOYZ, are preparing to tie the knot. The couple recently announced their marriage simultaneously, sharing intimate photos and heartfelt messages. Ji Ye-eun expressed that she “met the person I want to spend my life with,” while Vata thanked her for teaching him “what love is.” Details of their relationship and previously private courtship have now come to light.

Ji Ye-eun announced her upcoming marriage on social media on December 2. She wrote, “This is a precious and important promise. I’ve been thinking about when and how to tell everyone, and I’ve decided to share the news now. I… am getting married.”

She sweetly described Vata as someone who “always stands by me, gives me strength, and taught me how to enjoy happiness together.” She also revealed that she had always considered marriage a distant concept until she “met the person I want to spend my life with,” leading her to decide to embark on this next chapter. Ji Ye-eun added that they would become each other’s strongest support, living “healthily and happily,” and asked for warm blessings from everyone.

Vata also announced the marriage at the same time, revealing that he “met the most precious person to me and is preparing to marry her.” He described Ji Ye-eun as “a gift-like person” who sees and loves his true self.

Vata emotionally shared that he previously “only knew work,” and it was Ji Ye-eun who truly taught him “what love is,” for which he is deeply grateful. He promised that after marriage, he and Ji Ye-eun would rely on each other and “live sweetly and adorably.”

Their respective agencies confirmed that the couple will hold their wedding on December 12 in Seoul. Both born in 1994, they met at church and developed from friends to lovers, officially going public with their relationship in April of this year.

However, their relationship began earlier than many realized. On the YouTube channel “오키키” (Okiki), a program clip featured Gabee, Ji Ye-eun, and Jo Hye-ryun discussing dating. Gabee revealed that she almost played matchmaker for the couple.

Gabee shared that she already knew Vata, and upon seeing Ji Ye-eun, felt they “seemed very compatible,” so she offered to introduce them. Ji Ye-eun confirmed, “Yes, unnie (older sister) offered to introduce us first.” It turns out their first meeting was at Gabee’s birthday party. While they didn’t immediately become a couple, this encounter became the catalyst for their future relationship.

During the show, Jo Hye-ryun pressed for details on their dating timeline. When she asked Ji Ye-eun, “Did you start dating around November 11 last year?” Ji Ye-eun directly replied, “We were already dating then,” confirming they had been in a secret relationship before publicly acknowledging it.

Ji Ye-eun also revealed that they kept their relationship private at the time because it was “a bit of a secret romance, as we are both celebrities,” and they maintained a cautious, low-key relationship before officially going public.

Jo Hye-ryun also had a strong first impression of Vata. She recalled visiting a church to cheer on students who had just finished their university entrance exams. Vata was present, bringing friends to enthusiastically dance for the students. Jo Hye-ryun praised Vata at the time, saying, “His eyes are very clear.” Ji Ye-eun confessed that she, too, was drawn to Vata’s “clear eyes,” creating a sweet atmosphere on set.

Even more coincidentally, Jo Hye-ryun seemed to have sensed the romantic tension between them. Upon learning that Ji Ye-eun and Vata were at the same event, she blurted out, “You two will get married!”

At the time, everyone laughed it off, but now it has actually come true. Jo Hye-ryun even volunteered on the spot to sing her representative song “Anakena” (아나까나) as a congratulatory song at their wedding and invited Gabee to dance, which Gabee readily accepted.

Since this video was filmed before Ji Ye-eun and Vata officially announced their marriage, netizens are now calling Jo Hye-ryun’s remark “a divine prophecy.”

In addition to their relationship timeline, Ji Ye-eun also rarely discussed her past relationships on the show. When Jo Hye-ryun asked her, “Is dating Vata your third relationship?” she openly replied, “My third.” Ji Ye-eun then added, “I haven’t actually dated much.” The fact that she decided to marry in her third relationship has brought extra attention to their romance.

From a discreet secret romance to officially acknowledging their relationship in April this year, and now announcing their December wedding, Ji Ye-eun and Vata have maintained a low profile throughout. Now, by personally announcing their marriage and sharing sweet photos, they have officially declared their commitment to spend their lives together, drawing an outpouring of blessings from fans.
