K-Beauty Takes Global Stage with White House Spokesperson's Endorsement: 'Beauty of Joseon' and 'Mediheal' Lead the Charge
K-Beauty brands Beauty of Joseon (조선미녀) and Mediheal (메디힐) are making global waves, with their elevated status in the international market recently reconfirmed by a direct mention from White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt. Annual exports of K-skincare products have already surged past imports by over tenfold, reaching a staggering $3.5 billion.
On October 31, 2025, spokesperson Leavitt sparked significant interest in K-Beauty after visiting Olive Young (올리브영), Korea's popular health and beauty store, in Hwanglidan-gil (황리단길), a trendy district. She then shared a post on her social media showcasing 13 Korean brand products. According to a v.daum.net report, Beauty of Joseon and Mediheal particularly stood out from her selection.
Mediheal has been actively strengthening its product lineup, recently launching two new sunscreens: the 'Teatree Soothing Sun Cream' and the 'Sebum Balancing Sun Cream.' As reported by Cosinkorea, Mediheal has consistently boosted its brand recognition through diverse marketing initiatives. For instance, in 2022, they hosted an event offering invitation tickets to the 'Mediheal-Hankook Ilbo (한국일보) Championship Pro-Am Tournament.' These strategic moves are instrumental in solidifying the brand's competitive edge in the global market.
The White House spokesperson's endorsement, coupled with robust export figures, underscores that K-Beauty is more than just a passing trend; it has firmly established itself as a pivotal force in the global beauty industry. The continuous innovation and strategic marketing efforts by leading brands like Beauty of Joseon and Mediheal are expected to further propel K-Beauty's remarkable growth.
