Their relationship recently garnered attention after a public display of affection during a performance in Mongolia. The event featured a lineup of Korean artists including Psy, Baek Ji-young (백지영), Dok2, Lee Hi, and Bizzy, alongside local Mongolian singers. Following the concert, videos of the couple's joint performance began circulating on social media.
In the videos, Dok2 affectionately called Lee Hi “My Lady” during her introduction. He not only placed his hand on her shoulder but also took her hand and even knelt on one knee to sing on stage. These romantic, proposal-like scenes have once again drawn public attention to the couple’s relationship status.
Dok2 and Lee Hi publicly confirmed their relationship in March of this year. At the time, Lee Hi posted on social media, writing, “My only Dok2, To my man Dok2.” Dok2 simultaneously shared a photo of the two of them, and even rapper Sleepy commented, “Get married,” unexpectedly bringing up the topic of marriage prematurely.

However, as their romance garners attention, Dok2’s past debt controversies have also resurfaced. Recent reports indicate that a previous dispute over jewelry payments remains unresolved. Despite a court-ordered mandatory mediation, approximately 49.34 million Korean Won (about 1.1 million New Taiwan Dollars) in debt is still outstanding, with the delay extending for three years.
This dispute dates back to October 2019, when an overseas jeweler, identified as 'A', filed a lawsuit against Illionaire Records, Dok2’s former agency. The jeweler claimed that Dok2 purchased seven pieces of jewelry in three separate transactions between September and November 2018, totaling approximately $206,000 USD, with about $34,740 USD remaining unpaid.
As the outstanding payment remained unresolved, the dispute eventually went to court. In July 2022, the court largely sided with the jeweler, ordering Dok2 to pay the outstanding $34,740 USD plus related late interest. The payment was to be made in three installments, with a deadline of January 6, 2023. The court also stipulated that if any installment was overdue, the remaining balance and late fees would become immediately due in full.
However, Dok2 only paid approximately $11,580 USD in 2022 and subsequently failed to fulfill his remaining payment obligations. According to currently available information, including the unpaid principal and late interest, approximately $32,623 USD remains outstanding, keeping the debt issue under continuous scrutiny.
Adding to the discussion is Dok2’s past reputation for ostentatiously displaying his luxurious lifestyle. He appeared on shows like Mnet’s 'Show Me The Money' and MBC’s 'I Live Alone,' openly showcasing his wealth and becoming known as one of the representative 'flexing' figures in the Korean hip-hop scene. In 2015, tvN’s 'The List 2015' even revealed that his annual income once reached 1 billion Korean Won, and he owned seven supercars, generating considerable buzz at the time.
Now, Dok2 and Lee Hi’s four-year relationship is once again in the spotlight due to their public display of affection, but this has also inadvertently resurfaced past debt controversies, making their romance an unexpected focal point of discussion among Korean netizens.
