29日，電視劇《黑話律師》通過網絡進行了製作發表會。當中演員李鍾碩時隔3年回歸小螢幕引起了關注。

李鍾碩繼2019年播出的《羅曼史是別冊附錄》之後，時隔3年回歸電視劇。 另外，這亦是與《當你沉睡時》中合作過的吳忠煥導演的第二次合作。

飾演土湯匙出身的律師朴昌浩一角的李鍾碩，在被問及出演契機時回答說:「我想“如果能再和導演合作就好了”。 雖然是尊敬的導演，但也是非常親密的哥哥。 一起苦惱，後來決定嘗試一部沒有嘗試過的新的決議作品，所以相信導演，一起製作了這部作品。」

當被問到選角幕後故事時，吳忠煥導演表示:「這是很直觀的。 當我讀到劇本時，想到“希望誰來演這個角色”時，我便選定了想起來的人。」

吳忠煥導演表示:「最擔心的就是潤娥的角色。 這個角色非常堅強，但是對某些人來說，必須像天使一樣，而且還有很多需要突破的情況。 這是需要說服人們的艱難的角色。」
