OH MY GIRL's Mimi Reveals 14-Year Dating Dry Spell Since High School, Shares Extensive Ideal Type

Mimi (김미현), a member of K-pop girl group OH MY GIRL (오마이걸), recently appeared on a radio program where she openly discussed her past romantic experiences from her school days. She revealed that she has not been in a relationship for 14 years since her freshman year of high school. During this period, she not only lacked a partner but also had no experience with flirtation or being pursued, leading her to humorously lament, “Honestly, it’s sad in every way.”

Mimi appeared on KBS Cool FM’s “Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show” on August 31, where she shared updates on her life and her views on relationships during the “Park Myung-soo’s Legendary Master” segment. Host Park Myung-soo (박명수) asked her, “Was your freshman year of high school the last time you dated?” Mimi then candidly recounted her first love story.

She revealed that in high school, a boy her age confessed to her. “He told me, ‘I like you, let’s date,’ so we dated for about 50 days.” However, this first love ended abruptly after just 50 days due to the boy cheating.

Mimi recalled with a laugh, “He was really good at cheating. It seems popular people are like that; I didn’t know he was so popular back then.” Upon discovering his infidelity, she didn’t hesitate and immediately broke up with him. “After I found out he was cheating, I broke up with him right away, and since then, there’s been no news.”

After hearing this unexpected relationship history, Park Myung-soo couldn’t help but ask, “You’re in your 30s now, don’t you want to date?” Mimi laughed and said that she’s currently too busy just living her daily life. “First of all, I’m busy just living every day; I don’t have time. Dating requires emotional investment and time. Plus, you have to remember anniversaries like 100 days, 200 days, 2 years, 5 years, 10 years.”

Park Myung-soo praised her, saying, “So you’d rather invest that time in your future? Young people are really clear-headed!” Mimi also admitted that besides being busy, there’s another very realistic reason for her long dating hiatus. “Actually, no one pursues me at all.” She laughed, “If someone pursued me, my heart might start to waver, but no one does. I haven’t even had any flirtation. Honestly, it’s a bit sad in every way.”

As for her ideal type, Mimi unhesitatingly listed a long string of conditions. She first emphasized, “First, there can’t be any unpleasant odors; bad breath is also unacceptable.” She then frankly stated, “It’s certainly better to have a lot of assets, and if both of our financial situations are good, we can each live our own lives well.” Additionally, she hopes the other person is “handsome, pleasant to look at, and a bit tall.”

After hearing these conditions, Park Myung-soo couldn’t help but quip, “You might as well live alone!” which made everyone laugh. However, Mimi wasn’t finished with her ideal type criteria. She further emphasized that the other person should preferably not drink or smoke. “This is very important. People make mistakes after drinking, and I can’t accept someone drinking in front of me. If I see that, I’ll break up immediately.”

Mimi also laughingly admitted, “It might be a bit extreme,” showcasing her clear and firm stance on relationships.
