JYP Entertainment's New Job Posting Fuels TWICE Contract Renewal Speculation

The contract renewal status of popular South Korean girl group TWICE with JYP Entertainment continues to draw significant attention. Recent rumors suggest several members might depart the company upon contract expiration, raising concerns about a potential disbandment. Amid widespread speculation, JYP Entertainment’s latest job posting has ignited fervent discussion among fans, with many believing the company is actively implementing new measures to keep all nine members under its wing.

In recent weeks, rumors have circulated regarding TWICE members’ contract renewals. Jihyo (지효), Tzuyu (쯔위), Chaeyoung (채영), Jeongyeon (정연), Sana (사나), and Nayeon (나연) are among those named as potentially leaving JYP after their current contracts expire. However, neither JYP Entertainment nor the members themselves have officially responded to these rumors, leading fans to closely monitor every move by the company and the artists.

On the 29th, fans discovered a new job advertisement posted by JYP Entertainment, seeking a senior actor manager for STRIDE (Third Business Division), the department responsible for TWICE.

What sparked the most discussion was the job description explicitly stating the role would involve managing the acting activities of all nine TWICE members. Given the sensitive timing of TWICE’s contract renewals, this detail immediately led to speculation that JYP might be preparing to expand support for the members’ individual acting careers, hoping to increase their willingness to renew and keep all nine artists with the company.

One fan commented, “They just want to keep all nine members. I hope JYP truly treats them well, even better than before.”

However, many also questioned if JYP’s actions were too late. For instance, Dahyun (다현) ventured into acting approximately three years ago, and the company is only now hiring a dedicated manager for acting activities. Some fans directly stated, “It’s too late to think about hiring someone to manage acting work now.” Others felt this further proved the company had not properly planned for Dahyun’s career in the past, and even Jeongyeon’s individual development had not received sufficient attention.

The job posting quickly generated heated discussions on Korean online communities and overseas social media. Many fans offered their own theories. Some speculated that JYP might even establish a new subsidiary or label to accommodate Jihyo’s future solo career, hoping to retain her. Others lamented that the company now appears desperate, seemingly trying to prevent any member from leaving.

Another netizen commented, “JYP is really trying hard to keep all the members now. If they had given them the proper treatment and promotion from the start, it wouldn’t have come to this. TWICE has practically carried the entire company for 11 years.”

As of now, JYP Entertainment has not responded to whether this recruitment is related to TWICE’s contract renewal negotiations, so related speculations await further official clarification.
