TWICE member Sana (사나) recently looked back at the crucial moment she decided to move from Japan to Korea and join JYP Entertainment to become a K-pop idol. She revealed that she had initially hesitated about coming to Korea, but a 2PM concert ultimately helped her make up her mind, unexpectedly unveiling the story behind her debut.
On October 1, the YouTube channel "Ch117" released a video featuring 2PM member Lee Junho (이준호), with Sana as the host. The two discussed their experiences since their respective debuts.
Speaking about Lee Junho, who is also from JYP Entertainment, Sana said, "Since my debut, he's been the only senior who truly looked out for me. Even when we were on world tours together, he would keep in touch and give me advice." Lee Junho laughed upon hearing this, saying, "I guess I was very concerned about your well-being?" Sana added, "He also told me to enjoy it all and have fun."
When Lee Junho playfully asked, "Aren't you doing great now?" Sana smiled and replied, "Well, it's been 10 years." Lee Junho then remarked, "I still can't believe you've been debuted for 10 years. I've been a singer for 18 years and an actor for 13 years." Hearing this, Sana couldn't help but ask in surprise, "Has it really been that long?"
However, Sana also revealed for the first time on the show the true reason she decided to join JYP. She disclosed that she made up her mind after attending a 2PM concert. Sana recalled that after being scouted in Japan, she had been hesitant about whether to move to Korea and join JYP Entertainment.

It was at this time that Sana's mother bought tickets for a 2PM concert, and they attended together. Unexpectedly, this concert became a significant turning point in her life. She revealed that her mother asked her then, "Do you want to stand on stage like them?" Sana answered without hesitation, "Yes, I want to do something like that too." It was this statement that ultimately led her to decide to come to Korea and embark on the path to becoming a K-pop idol.

Sana also recalled the impactful feeling of watching 2PM perform. Since the senior artists she saw at the time performed with female dancers, she initially thought that she too would one day perform with male dancers after her debut. She laughed, saying, "So after my debut, I thought, 'Of course, one day I'll perform with male dancers.' Because the seniors I saw were dancing with female dancers."
However, TWICE's past stages never featured male dancers until their recent tour. Sana revealed, "But we never used male dancers before; this tour is the first time we've had male dancers."
From the moment she watched a 2PM concert and thought, "I want to stand on stage too," to now being a member of TWICE and celebrating her 10th debut anniversary, Sana shared the pivotal opportunity that led her to the K-pop path through these memories.
