Rookie Girl Group UNCHILD's Comeback Indefinitely Postponed, Fans Speculate After Month-Long Silence

Korean rookie girl group UNCHILD has recently become unreachable, drawing significant attention from fans. The group officially debuted in April this year and was scheduled to release a new digital single, “Ting Ting,” in September. However, just before their comeback, the release was suddenly announced as indefinitely postponed, with no new release date provided. Further alarming fans, the members have not publicly updated their social media for over a month, leading to widespread speculation about the group's current status.

UNCHILD was launched by HighUp Entertainment and includes Na Haeun (羅夏恩), known as a “dance prodigy” for her exceptional dance skills. In December 2025, Na was officially announced to debut as an idol, later confirmed to join HighUp Entertainment's new girl group, UNCHILD. The group is also the junior act to STAYC.

UNCHILD officially debuted on April 21, 2026, with the digital single “We Are UNCHILD.” They were expected to steadily build popularity and engage in more group activities. However, just a few months after their debut, the group's activities abruptly came to a halt.

[NOTICE] UNCHILD Digital Single [TiNG TiNG] Release Postponement Notice
Hello.
This is Highup Entertainment.
We would like to inform you that the release of UNCHILD's 2nd Digital Single [TiNG TiNG], originally scheduled for September 2, 2026 (Wednesday) at 6 PM (KST), has been unavoidably postponed due to internal company circumstances.
We sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused to our CHACHA fans who have been waiting for our comeback.
We will provide further updates on the confirmed schedule as soon as it is organized.
We ask for your kind understanding.
Thank you.

On August 19, Korean media reported that UNCHILD was expected to release their second digital single, “Ting Ting,” on September 6. Unexpectedly, just days after this announcement, the company suddenly declared an indefinite postponement of the new song due to “internal circumstances,” without specifying a new release date.

Following this news, fans were not only shocked but also noticed that UNCHILD members' social media accounts had not been updated for an extended period. For a rookie girl group that had just debuted and was preparing for a comeback, over a month without any member updates has increasingly worried fans.

Many fans have since launched the hashtag “#WhereIsUnchild” on social media platforms, hoping HighUp Entertainment will address the group's current situation and demand transparency regarding members' activities and treatment.

As the situation continues to escalate, Korean netizens have also begun discussing the reasons behind UNCHILD's sudden halt. Some have noted that other groups under HighUp Entertainment are still active, making UNCHILD's situation even more perplexing.

One netizen questioned, “They still have stage performances, so what does 'all activities are suspended' even mean?” Another commented, “How could a rookie group suddenly become like this? Did something happen?”

Other netizens mentioned that initially, people might have thought it was just an MV or comeback delay, but now that it has dragged on for so long, the situation seems unusual: “At first, I thought it was just an MV delay, but it's really been this long.” and “They even had the stage prepared, but then everything suddenly stopped. What's going on?”

Even if the music video is ruined, they'd re-shoot it, but it wouldn't take this long. It's not a company issue, since STAYC communicates well. Is it a problem between the members and the company?
It's strange for communication to be cut off. Even groups on hiatus use SNS or communication apps. If it's a music video issue, there are cases where they release the album first and then film the music video during the break.
Usually, someone leaves in this situation.
If only one member is leaving, they should continue activities without them... The communication halt feels strange.
Huh... Why is the comeback delayed?
I can understand the comeback being delayed, but the communication being cut off is driving fans crazy.
Wi o a Unchilddddd
The comeback can be delayed, but why the communication halt...

Some have speculated about members' health or other issues, asking, “Could a member suddenly have health problems or other issues?” Some even linked it to rumors circulating online about rookie girl groups potentially participating in a new season of a girl group survival show, wondering if this affected the group's schedule. However, these are currently just netizens' speculations and have not been officially confirmed.

Some netizens believe that if it were just an issue with a single member, it shouldn't lead to the entire group being out of contact for such a long time, further questioning the company's current arrangements: “If one or two members had problems, it shouldn't drag on for a whole month. At most, there should be an explanation within a week.” Another directly stated, “Other groups from the same company are still active, but UNCHILD has no news at all. It's really strange.”

Some netizens have even linked the situation to possibilities like members leaving the group or company financial issues, commenting: “Could a member be leaving?” “At this point, financial problems seem most likely.” “There have always been rumors that HighUp is short on money.” Some even pessimistically speculated, “Is the company about to collapse?”

However, all the above remain netizens' speculations, and HighUp Entertainment has not confirmed any member departures, financial problems, or a company management crisis.

Another segment of netizens focused on the lack of official communication to fans for an extended period, believing that the true source of anxiety is “no communication whatsoever.” One person commented, “In today's idol industry, a whole month without any news makes it hard not to worry.” “No communication is the most outrageous part; they are still rookies.” “It's very rare for a comeback to be suddenly halted 10 days before it.”

Other netizens expressed concern for the fans: “They even released a pre-release track, but then there's been no news for a whole month. Fans must be extremely anxious.”

Currently, HighUp Entertainment has not announced UNCHILD's subsequent comeback date nor provided further explanation for the members' prolonged absence from public activities. As “#WhereIsUnchild” continues to gain attention, fans are still awaiting a statement from the company regarding the group's current activity status.
