K-pop girl group 'FIFTY FIFTY' soared to commercial success with their viral hit single "Cupid" in February 2023. Within four months of their debut under Attrakt, an independent record label, they became the fastest K-pop group to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart. Their debut EP, "The Fifty," set the stage for their rise to prominence in November 2022.
Previously, it was reported that Aran, one of the members of FIFTY FIFTY, underwent surgery. Aran had encountered discomfort during choreography practice, leading her to seek medical treatment and undergo examination at the hospital.
On the 23rd, FIFTY FIFTY's agency issued an update regarding the activities of their artist, revealing that one of their members had encountered medical symptoms. Following consultations with the member and their family, appropriate treatment was pursued in accordance with the guidance provided by medical professionals.
The member underwent surgery on May 2nd and requires a recovery period of one to two months. To prioritise their health, Attrakt temporarily suspended their group activities, providing them with a period of rest.
In addition, the agency stated, "However, we have identified external forces attempting to approach our affiliated artists and lure them into violating our exclusive contracts. These external forces engage in illegal activities by criticising our agency with malicious intent and attempting to manipulate our artists into disregarding valid exclusive contracts with us through distorted portrayals."
They further expressed, "Although we cannot contain our anger towards the unlawful actions of these unscrupulous external forces trying to seize the tremendous miracle achieved by our small and powerless agency, we will respond calmly and firmly. We will fight until the end without any compromise, holding these external forces legally accountable."
Attrakt concluded by stating, "We will repay the abundant love and support from our fans by protecting our artists, who have become precious talents of South Korea, and striving for their growth. We express our gratitude to the fans."
