TWICE member YOO Jeong-yeon (유정연) made a surprising announcement on October 10, revealing in a handwritten letter that she would be leaving JYP Entertainment after many years. She will embark on a new chapter in her career, having signed with Varo Entertainment on the same day. Varo Entertainment is home to actors like BYEON Woo-seok and also represents her older sister, GONG Seung-yeon.

In her letter, Yoo Jeong-yeon reflected on her journey with JYP since her teenage years. She admitted that leaving a familiar environment was "a little scary," but the trust of her fellow TWICE members and ONCE (TWICE's fandom) gave her the courage to embrace new challenges.

She also reassured fans, stating, "Even though I'm moving out of a familiar home and starting a new challenge, the most important TWICE in my heart will remain as it is now. Standing before ONCE as a member of TWICE will always be my top priority."

Yoo Jeong-yeon concluded emotionally, expressing her commitment to preparing each step with sincerity, whether as "TWICE's Jeongyeon" or as YOO Jeong-yeon embarking on new challenges.
