Baek Jin-hee's Past Relationships Resurface, Sparking 'Love Square' Speculation with Yoon Hyun-min, Park Seo-joon, and Jeon So-min

Korean actress Baek Jin-hee (백진희) and actor Yoon Hyun-min (윤현민) developed a romantic relationship after starring together in the MBC drama “My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol.” They officially confirmed their relationship in March 2017, becoming a well-known celebrity couple. After approximately seven years of dating, the couple announced their breakup in September 2023.

Recently, Baek Jin-hee appeared on her friend Jung Hye-sung’s (정혜성) YouTube channel. During a discussion about relationships, Jung Hye-sung unexpectedly “revealed” and playfully teased Baek Jin-hee, stating that she had repeatedly advised her friend to break up, even joking that she had “talked until her ears were calloused.” She also expressed frustration, saying Baek Jin-hee rarely listened to her advice: “My older sister doesn’t really listen to me. These remarks not only brought Baek Jin-hee and Yoon Hyun-min’s seven-year relationship back into the spotlight but also reignited past dating rumors involving the two with actress Jeon So-min (전소민) and actor Park Seo-joon (박서준), leading to online discussions about a potential “love square.”

In fact, the YouTube channel “Gimakhin Show” (기막힌쇼) previously published a video titled “Actress Who Left Her Love-First Boyfriend Park Seo-joon to Date His Best Friend,” connecting the timeline of Park Seo-joon and Baek Jin-hee’s past dating rumors with Baek Jin-hee’s later relationship with Yoon Hyun-min, sparking considerable discussion.

According to the video, Park Seo-joon and Baek Jin-hee collaborated on the MBC drama “Pots of Gold” in 2013, where they played a married couple. This led to multiple dating rumors off-screen. However, at the time, both parties emphasized they were merely “good colleagues” and denied being in a relationship.

Nevertheless, “evidence” of their alleged relationship circulated online, including photos of them seemingly wearing couple outfits and rings. There were even claims that Park Seo-joon moved to Baek Jin-hee’s neighborhood, and the two were reportedly seen walking together. While these rumors generated intense discussion, neither ever publicly confirmed their relationship, so this alleged relationship remains unverified.

On the other hand, Baek Jin-hee and Yoon Hyun-min were rumored to be dating after working together on “My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol” in 2015. They played the lead roles in the drama and were later photographed together at a furniture store, fueling dating rumors. While they initially denied the relationship, they later officially confirmed it.

Yoon Hyun-min and Park Seo-joon were also close friends in the industry. Yoon Hyun-min appeared in tvN’s “A Witch’s Romance” in 2014, playing Park Seo-joon’s friend. He previously revealed that he met Park Seo-joon through the celebrity baseball team “Playboys,” and they had a good private relationship, referring to each other as older and younger brothers.

The “Gimakhin Show” therefore claimed that Park Seo-joon had even brought Baek Jin-hee to actor gatherings. However, as Baek Jin-hee and Yoon Hyun-min’s dating rumors emerged, their friendship reportedly fractured, and the relationship between the three seemed to change.

The channel further cited Park Seo-joon later unfollowing Baek Jin-hee and Yoon Hyun-min’s Instagram accounts as evidence of their friendship possibly souring. However, unfollowing alone does not prove any romantic entanglement between the three, and these claims remain speculative.

What was officially confirmed was Yoon Hyun-min’s relationship with Jeon So-min. The two publicly confirmed their relationship in April 2015 and announced their breakup in December of the same year.

Baek Jin-hee and Yoon Hyun-min initially denied their relationship during the early stages of their dating, only officially confirming it in March 2017 after “My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol” concluded. However, even before their public acknowledgment, they were photographed together at a furniture store in January 2016 and later traveling to the United States in April of the same year.

At the time, she shared poet Eun Hee-kyung’s work “After Breaking Up,” which was interpreted by the public as an expression of her feelings of heartbreak.
