BIGBANG's G-Dragon Praised for Preventing Photographer's Fall
BIGBANG member G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong, 권지용) recently earned praise from netizens for his thoughtful actions. During a performance, he noticed a photographer continually backing up to capture a shot and immediately intervened. He even silently positioned himself behind the photographer as a “human shield” while the photographer was filming other members, preventing a potential accident.
BIGBANG held their 20th-anniversary world tour, “[XX : COSMOS],” from October 21 to 23 at the Goyang Sports Complex in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The concert attracted over 100,000 fans and concluded successfully. Following the event, footage of G-Dragon saving someone on stage went viral on social media, drawing attention to his thoughtful gesture.
The circulating video shows G-Dragon performing on stage when he noticed a photographer backing up to adjust their shooting angle. With the stage approximately 2 meters (6.5 feet) high, a slight misstep could have resulted in a serious fall.
Realizing the danger, G-Dragon immediately gestured for the photographer to stop and actively moved aside, allowing them to safely step further onto the stage. Not only that, but when the photographer turned to film other members, G-Dragon specifically moved behind them, acting as a “human shield” and constantly monitoring their surroundings.

After the video was released, a netizen claiming to be the photographer’s wife personally commented, thanking G-Dragon and revealing that her husband had almost fallen off the stage.
She stated that the stage was about 2 meters high, and her husband was backing up to get a shot. If G-Dragon hadn't noticed and intervened in time, her husband could have suffered a serious fall. “It really almost turned into a major incident,” she wrote.
She expressed her gratitude that her husband returned safely, saying, “G-Dragon saved my husband.” She added that she was once again touched by G-Dragon’s care and kindness, deeply appreciating his warm gesture.
BIGBANG is set to continue their world tour, starting from Goyang and traveling to cities including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Australia, with a total of 33 performances planned across 19 cities worldwide.
