South Korean actress Han So-hee (한소희) rose to fame through hit dramas like “The World of the Married” and “My Name,” captivating audiences with her striking visuals and exceptional acting. However, behind the glamorous facade of celebrity life, the work of a manager is far more challenging than many imagine. Recently, a man who claims to have previously worked as Han So-hee’s manager appeared on a radio program, sharing his past experiences in the entertainment industry. He confessed to an extremely irregular lifestyle, even stating that “sleeping a full seven hours a week was already a lot.” His revelations about the grueling work conditions have garnered significant attention.

Comedians Nam Ho-yeon (남호연) and Kim Seung-jin (김승진) recently appeared as special guests on SBS Power FM’s radio program “Cultwo Show.” During a discussion about street scouts discovering artists, a listener unexpectedly called in to share his own past experiences working in the entertainment industry.

The man revealed he had previously worked as a street scout and later as an actor’s manager for about four to five years. He then disclosed that the last artist he managed was none other than Han So-hee. At the time, Han So-hee was filming the historical K-drama “100 Days My Prince,” which gave him the opportunity to closely observe an artist’s daily work.

Upon hearing his story, the hosts also commented on the difficulties faced by actor managers, noting that the job often involves long hours of waiting for artists, and that simply traveling to various filming locations is physically exhausting. However, the manager’s subsequent revelations about the inner workings of the job were even more astonishing.

He admitted that getting enough sleep was a luxury during his time as a manager, stating, “If I could sleep seven hours in a week, I would consider that a lot.” He also had to accompany artists to every filming set, handling related tasks and even filming additional videos of the artists, indicating an incredibly heavy workload.

The man further revealed that he ultimately left the job because he simply couldn’t adapt to such a high-pressure work model. Many of his friends working in the entertainment industry also considered quitting, which made him even more aware of the hardships behind the profession.

For many fans, being able to interact closely with celebrities and accompany artists at work might seem like an enviable profession. However, based on the account of this man, who claims to have been Han So-hee’s manager, the actual job involves not only long hours on standby but also constant travel to accommodate artists’ filming schedules, making it difficult to even maintain basic sleep. This reality is a far cry from the glamorous image often portrayed to the public.

It’s important to note that the man’s account primarily reflects his past work experience and does not directly attribute these issues to Han So-hee herself. Nevertheless, this experience once again sheds light on the unseen difficulties faced by staff working in the entertainment industry.
