Hyolyn Reveals Past Heartbreak: Best Friend Stole Her Boyfriend, But She 'Let Them Go'

Singer Hyolyn (효린), formerly of K-pop girl group SISTAR, recently appeared on a YouTube program where she candidly discussed her views on relationships. For the first time, she admitted to a past experience where her best friend took her boyfriend. She explained that she chose to let them go gracefully at the time, but emphasized that if the same situation were to happen again, she "would never stand by." Her straightforward remarks have generated considerable buzz.

On May 5, a new episode of Tak Jae-hoon's (탁재훈) online variety show, 'No Back Tak Jae-hoon,' was released, featuring Hyolyn as a guest. She and host Tak Jae-hoon engaged in a lively conversation about dating. When asked about her ideal type, Hyolyn stated that she never considers a partner's wealth or appearance. "I believe more in feeling," she said. "Some people just inexplicably draw me in, even though they don't share any common characteristics."

Host Tak Jae-hoon playfully remarked that Hyolyn gives off a strong impression, but he had heard that her past boyfriends appreciated her innocent side. He then jokingly asked, "You're not pretending to be innocent, are you?" Hyolyn immediately denied it, laughing, "I don't pretend to be innocent, nor do I pretend to be cunning." Tak Jae-hoon then brought up a rumor that due to her straightforward personality, her best friend had stolen her boyfriend, expressing surprise that she ultimately chose to let them go gracefully.
