A South Korean male idol, famously known for debuting three times, recently announced a surprising career change: he has transitioned from a stage performer to a civil servant. The news has sparked considerable discussion among fans and netizens.

On the 4th, South Korean YouTube channel TJB NEWS released a video titled "From Idol to Civil Servant... Starting a New Chapter in Public Service," revealing the current life of Kang Hyeon-su (강현수). After multiple attempts at an idol career, he has now joined Boryeong City Hall, officially embarking on his second career.

Kang Hyeon-su first entered the entertainment industry in 2013 as a member of the boy group LC9, performing under the stage name AO. The group officially disbanded on Dec. 23, 2015. In 2017, he joined BLK, but that group also disbanded on Sept. 18, 2018. His third attempt came in 2019 when he participated in Mnet's survival show "Produce X 101," ultimately ranking 26th. He then became a member of the Japanese-Korean boy group NIK in 2021.

However, NIK's activities lasted only about two years before the group disbanded. After the conclusion of his group activities, Kang Hyeon-su began to contemplate his future career path.

With his entertainment career temporarily concluded, he decided to pursue a career in public service, passing the civil service exam for a technical position. Influenced by his family, he began studying electrical engineering to find a more stable job, then dedicated himself to preparing for the civil service examination, eventually succeeding.
