American singer Tame Impala recently discussed the behind-the-scenes story of his collaboration with Jennie on the song "Dracula," mentioning a "male friend who knows Jennie" who proactively offered to connect them during a meal. This has led many fans to once again point to V, with some exclaiming, "It all lines up now."
Tame Impala recently appeared on Variety's "Behind the Song" segment, where he personally shared the creative process behind the hit song "Dracula (with JENNIE)." He revealed that from the initial stages of producing the track, he had wanted to feature a female vocalist, and when he decided to create a remix, Jennie was the first person who came to mind.
He stated that he had mentioned this idea to a friend who knew Jennie, and that friend immediately offered to help make contact. Tame Impala recalled that they were having dinner together when the friend suddenly asked him, "If you want, I can message her right now."
He quickly responded, "Wait, wait, slow down," explaining that he had initially hoped to approach the collaboration more formally. However, the friend messaged Jennie anyway and told him the next day, "Yes, she's interested."
After this behind-the-scenes story came to light, a large number of fans began to connect the dots. Tame Impala did not reveal the friend's identity, but netizens discovered that when he visited Korea in late 2024, he was photographed having dinner with BTS member V. Consequently, many fans believe that the "male friend who knows Jennie" mentioned by Tame Impala could very well be V.
One excited fan commented, "OMG, it's finally confirmed!" Others analyzed that Tame Impala mentioned Jennie was recommended by a male friend during dinner, and Jennie herself had previously revealed that she met Tame Impala through a mutual friend. Combined with Tame Impala having dinner with V during his visit to Korea in November 2024, fans believe the timeline seems to align perfectly.
Some even excitedly exclaimed, "So, V recommended his girlfriend for the collaboration?" Other fans simply stated, "He messaged Jennie, all the clues line up!"
However, some netizens remain skeptical of this speculation, arguing that there isn't enough evidence to prove that the "friend" Tame Impala mentioned is V, and others questioned whether the timelines truly match up perfectly.
In fact, as early as August of this year, Jennie revealed in an interview with Cosmopolitan that she met Tame Impala through a "mutual friend," which at the time already sparked connections to her dating rumors with V.
