Netflix's romantic comedy “My Sweet Mobster,” starring Jung Hae-in (丁海寅) and Han Sunhwa (韓善伙), has recently gained popularity. To promote the new series, Jung Hae-in has been making frequent appearances on various variety shows and YouTube programs. Most recently, he guested on actress Yoo In-na’s (劉寅娜) personal YouTube channel, marking their reunion after approximately five years. During the show, Yoo In-na openly shared her long-term observations of Jung Hae-in’s true personality, stating that he is almost identical in private to his well-known public image—consistently gentle and thoughtful. Faced with Yoo In-na’s unreserved praise, Jung Hae-in shyly exclaimed, “I’m sweating!” creating a humorous atmosphere.
The two previously collaborated on the 2021 JTBC drama “Snowdrop.” Meeting again after about five years, Yoo In-na happily began by saying, “We are very close.” Jung Hae-in also expressed his delight at the reunion.
During the program, Yoo In-na took the rare opportunity to discuss her impression of Jung Hae-in. She noted that Jung Hae-in’s public image has always been one of being “upright, clean, and rarely getting angry.” As a result, she is often asked privately, “Is Jung Hae-in really like that in person?” To this, Yoo In-na answered without hesitation, “He’s truly no different at all. Everyone can just understand him based on the image they already have of him.”
She emphasized that this impression wasn’t formed from a brief encounter but was the result of observing him firsthand over several months while filming a demanding project together. “If you film such a difficult drama together for several months, it couldn’t possibly be fake.”
Yoo In-na revealed that Jung Hae-in not only takes care of his own well-being but also considers the emotions of the staff around him. “He even looks after the psychological state of others on set, paying attention to whether everyone is smiling and happy.”
What impressed her even more was that Jung Hae-in maintained this demeanor beyond just the initial stages of filming. Yoo In-na chuckled, “For the first day or two, you might say it’s a conscious effort, but I saw it with my own eyes: after eight months, he was still doing these things with a smile.” She further stated, “He’s genuine; this person is truly like that.”
Yoo In-na’s continuous stream of compliments made Jung Hae-in blush, prompting him to say, “I’m sweating.” Yoo In-na laughed and responded, “I just called Mr. Hae-in in front of me and kept praising him.”
Jung Hae-in’s appearance on the show was also to promote his new series “My Sweet Mobster,” which premiered on Netflix on July 7. In the drama, he plays Jang Tae-ha, a boxing coach who begins cohabiting with Go Eun-seo, a prosecutor with amnesia, played by Han Sunhwa. Their story unfolds into a romantic comedy.
However, shortly after the series’ release, Han Sunhwa became embroiled in controversy due to her great-grandfather’s alleged pro-Japanese activities during the Japanese colonial period, which subsequently affected the drama’s promotional schedule. With Han Sunhwa withdrawing from previously arranged promotional activities, Jung Hae-in has taken on many of the recent promotional duties alone.
In addition to appearing on the YouTube program “Salon Drip” to promote the series, Jung Hae-in also guested on “Yoo In-na Radio,” shouldering a significant amount of promotional work by himself. Fans have expressed their support, with comments such as “Solo promotion is actually the best,” “Working hard even alone,” “Decided to watch the whole series after seeing Jung Hae-in’s face,” and “Go, Jung Hae-in,” flooding the comment sections.
