This comes just nine months after his father's death, meaning he has lost both parents in less than a year, a revelation that has garnered immense sympathy from fans.
Kim's agency, PocketDol Studio, recently released a statement confirming his mother's death after a long battle with illness. The agency stated that the funeral would be held privately, open only to family, relatives, and close friends, and requested the public to respect the family's privacy during this difficult time.
Kim Woo-seok had previously experienced the pain of losing his father on January 5 this year. Now, with his mother's unfortunate passing, he has lost both parents within a mere nine months. Born in 2004, Kim Woo-seok participated in the 2023 survival show 'Fantasy Boys,' ultimately securing 10th place and earning his debut spot as a member of Fantasy Boys. The group, co-managed by PocketDol Studio (represented by Kim Kwang-soo) and M25, officially debuted on September 21, 2023.
However, Fantasy Boys has previously faced controversy regarding alleged mistreatment of members by the agency, drawing concern from fans and the public. Former leader Kang Min-seo (강민서) was seen making what appeared to be SOS hand gestures multiple times during live broadcasts and even missed a fan signing event, leading fans to worry about his well-being.
