Go Young-wook Attacks Lee Min-jung, Lee Byung-hun, and Ryu Soo-young in Latest Social Media Rants

Former Roo'Ra (룰라) member Go Young-wook (고영욱) has recently been frequently naming entertainment industry figures and posting comments on social media. This time, he directed his criticism at actors Lee Min-jung (이민정) and Lee Byung-hun (이병헌), bringing up past interactions with Lee Min-jung and commenting on the couple's family vacation photos. His remarks have once again ignited controversy.

On December 4, Go Young-wook uploaded a screenshot of an online news article related to Lee Min-jung on his personal account, discussing their past “connection.” He claimed that he discovered Lee Min-jung on the streets of Apgujeong, Seoul, when she was a high school student, and at the time, she seemed uninterested in entering the entertainment industry. He wrote, “When I first scouted Ms. Lee Min-jung on the streets of Apgujeong when she was in high school, she said she didn't seem interested in the entertainment industry.”

Go Young-wook also mentioned that Lee Min-jung later appeared in his music video, but his tone became noticeably sarcastic when discussing her current acting career. He wrote, “She eventually appeared in my music video, but in the blink of an eye, she's almost a dignified middle-aged woman, engrossed in playing the celebrity game. It seems I was indeed ahead in many aspects.”

Furthermore, Go Young-wook later shared a news article about Lee Min-jung and Lee Byung-hun traveling abroad with their two children, even commenting on Lee Byung-hun's expression in the photo. He wrote, “Lee Byung-hun hyung's expression doesn't seem very happy. Is it just my feeling... or do most husbands unconsciously make that expression when they go on family trips?”

Go Young-wook's recent series of social media posts, mentioning various entertainment figures and commenting on everything from past interactions to celebrity couples' family lives, has repeatedly sparked online controversy.

In fact, Go Young-wook had previously targeted actors Ryu Soo-young (류수영) and Park Ha-sun (박하선), even involving former Roo'Ra member Kim Ji-hyun (김지현). At the time, he commented on Park Ha-sun's lifestyle and spending habits, writing, “Ha-sun, I didn't know this side of you before. Anyway, for someone preparing for a civil service exam, you're an unaffordable woman.” He then added sarcastically, “At this rate, you'll keep buying luxury brands in the future. It seems your husband, Mr. Ryu Soo-young, will have to take on any job and work hard to earn money. Although it looks like pouring water into a bottomless pit.”

Additionally, Go Young-wook brought up Ryu Soo-young's film debut, Summertime, and mentioned former Roo'Ra member Kim Ji-hyun, mockingly stating, “If you feel too burdened, film Summertime 2 with Kim Ji-hyun.” He even went on to comment on Kim Ji-hyun's current entertainment activities, with these remarks immediately causing controversy.

Summertime, released in 2001, was directed by Park Jae-ho and starred Ryu Soo-young and Kim Ji-hyun. It is an R-rated adult film.

Go Young-wook debuted as a member of Roo'Ra in 1994. In 2013, he was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison for a sexual offense involving a minor, along with public disclosure of his personal information and electronic ankle monitoring. He was released from prison in 2015 after serving his sentence.

After his release, Go Young-wook's social media activities have repeatedly sparked controversy. In November 2020, he opened an Instagram account, stating his desire to “cautiously communicate with the world,” but the account was shut down within less than a day due to numerous reports. At the time, Instagram's policies prohibited certain convicted sex offenders from using accounts and encouraged users to report them.
