Former Idol Park Hyun-ho Reveals Past Suicidal Thoughts, Finds Strength in Wife Eun Ga-eun's Support
Former South Korean idol Park Hyun-ho (박현호) recently made a rare confession on KBS 2TV's variety show “Mr. House Husband Season 2,” revealing the depths of his past career struggles. He admitted to feeling so lost and without a future that he contemplated suicide by jumping from a building. Now, with the unwavering support of his wife, Eun Ga-eun (은가은), he continues to chase his dream of becoming a singer, actively seeking opportunities to return to the stage.
The latest episode, which aired on the 22nd, focused on Park Hyun-ho's efforts to establish himself as a singer, alongside his wife Eun Ga-eun, who manages household chores and childcare.
Compared to his busy wife, Park Hyun-ho, who has had very few entertainment engagements recently, appeared visibly downcast. Despite his mood, he proactively helps with household duties, supporting Eun Ga-eun as she juggles childcare and chores. Reflecting on his past career, Park Hyun-ho said, "I used to be Park Hyun-ho, someone everyone recognized on the street."
He revealed that he trained as an idol for three years and promoted for about three years after his debut. "When my idol career didn't succeed, many other places still sought me out, so I thought, 'I can try again.' But I never achieved significant success, and eventually, I started to feel that perhaps the entertainment industry wasn't for me at all."

Park Hyun-ho previously promoted under the stage name Seogoong as a member of the boy group TOPP DOGG. When the group's success fell short of expectations, he later joined UnderDogg and also attempted a solo career under the name I'M. After multiple unsuccessful attempts, he temporarily abandoned his dream of becoming a singer and enlisted in the military. Upon his discharge, he transitioned to trot music, performing on nearly every available stage in hopes of reintroducing himself to the public.
