Is Rami Really Not Returning to BABYMONSTER? YG's Latest Move Ignites Speculation, Angering Fans

Rami (라미), a member of the South Korean girl group BABYMONSTER, has been on hiatus for nearly a year and a half since May 2025 due to health reasons. Throughout this period, fans have eagerly awaited news of her return, but the agency has remained silent. Her first public appearance in over a year this past August reignited speculation about her current status within the group.

Now, fans have discovered a new detail concerning Rami, once again drawing YG Entertainment into controversy. On the 6th, a Filipino BABYMONSTER fan group shared the results of their support project for the idols, which involved custom-ordered cakes for the group. The members shared photos of the cakes on Weverse, and the fan group happily announced the project's success.

However, fans quickly noticed that the cakes featured representative characters for only six members. Addressing the inquiries, the fan group explained that their initial design included symbols for all seven members, including Rami's representative animal. According to the fan group, the management team requested that Rami's symbol be removed.

The fan group stated, “Our initial design included Rami’s animal symbol, but the management team asked us to remove it.” They also expressed hope for understanding, adding that they wish to include Rami in future support projects if the opportunity arises.

This explanation, however, only intensified the dissatisfaction among many fans. They believe YG Entertainment has long failed to provide clear updates on Rami's activities, and the recent request to remove her representative symbol has left them confused and angry.

Some fans directly called on YG, demanding a formal explanation of Rami's current position within the group and future plans. They warned, “Continued silence is unacceptable. If we continue to be ignored, we will take further action.”

Other fans questioned why the company has been unwilling to inform them if there are no plans for Rami's return. “If you don’t plan to bring Rami back, just tell us. Why don’t you update us on the idol’s situation, leaving fans to rely only on news from her family?”

Fans also highlighted that the support cake was originally designed for seven members, but according to the fan group, YG's management team requested the removal of Rami's representative animal, the dolphin.

In response, many fans criticized YG's handling of the situation as “disrespectful” and “highly unprofessional.” They argue that the company's prolonged silence on Rami's status, coupled with the recent removal of her symbolic representation, only fuels speculation about her future relationship with BABYMONSTER.

Rami has not participated in group activities for an extended period since announcing her hiatus in May 2025 due to health concerns. With the fan support cake incident sparking renewed discussion, public attention is now focused on when YG Entertainment will officially address Rami's current situation and whether she will return as a member of BABYMONSTER.
