According to police, Bae was found dead in an apartment on Yeongjong Island, Incheon, around 8 a.m. on June 5. Authorities reported that no suicide note or signs of criminal activity were discovered at the scene. The investigation into the exact cause of death is ongoing.

Bae previously operated the YouTube channel "New Men's Solidarity," where he consistently advocated for men's rights and anti-feminism. He also participated in rallies opposing the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, gaining notoriety within South Korean online communities.

However, after a divorce lawsuit with his ex-wife became public in 2024, Bae revealed he was suffering from depression and panic disorder, subsequently halting updates to his YouTube channel.

Additionally, in May of last year, he was investigated by police on suspicion of using methamphetamine at a motel in Jung-gu, Incheon. Korean media reported that Bae admitted to drug use during police questioning. In June of the same year, his case was forwarded to the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office for investigation without detention.

As of now, most videos on Bae's YouTube channel, "New Men's Solidarity," have been deleted, with only three videos remaining viewable.
