YouTuber Park We, Husband of Former Secret Member Song Ji-eun, Accused of School Bullying

YouTuber Park We (박위), husband of former Secret member Song Ji-eun (송지은), is embroiled in fresh controversy. This follows a strong backlash he recently received for publicizing CCTV footage of a KTX train accident. Now, comments from self-proclaimed insiders have appeared online, alleging his involvement in school violence during his student years, including a claim that he was sent to a juvenile detention center, drawing significant public attention.

Recently, comments from netizens claiming to have known Park We during his school days have appeared in the comment sections of several YouTube videos related to him.

One netizen alleged that while attending Yongsan High School, Park We injured another student, who required four weeks of treatment. The netizen further claimed that Park We was subsequently sent to a juvenile detention center but was not expelled, eventually returning to school.

As these comments spread online, another netizen, also claiming to be a graduate of Yongsan High School, responded. While stating they were not in the same class as Park We, they noted that “the entire school was talking about it at the time” and claimed that news of Park We re-enrolling after being sent to a juvenile detention center circulated within the school.

Additionally, other netizens have commented, alleging that Park We was known as an “iljin” (일진), a term commonly used in Korea to refer to school bullying groups or problematic students, during his school years. They also brought up other claims related to his past school life.

These comments quickly spread across various online communities, sparking heated discussions among netizens. The timing is particularly sensitive as Park We is already facing intense public criticism over the KTX accident CCTV footage. With that controversy still unresolved, these new revelations about his student past have further escalated the situation.

However, the content circulating online consists solely of unilateral accusations from anonymous netizens. There is currently no concrete evidence or official confirmation regarding whether the commenters were indeed Park We's classmates, or the claims of school violence, injury incidents, and juvenile detention.

As of now, Park We's representatives have not issued an official response to the online allegations concerning his student years.

Park We previously faced controversy for publicizing CCTV footage of a KTX accident. While disembarking from a KTX train, a social service worker assisting him inadvertently caught his wheelchair, causing Park We to fall. Park We subsequently uploaded the accident CCTV to his YouTube channel, “Weracle” (위라클).

At the time, Park We stated that he released the video to raise awareness about safety and prevent similar accidents. However, the social service worker involved was perceived to have made an unintentional operational error, and the public release of the accident footage by a channel with over a million subscribers led to criticism that his handling of the situation was “excessive.”

Even after Park We deleted the video and apologized, the controversy did not subside. In addition to a significant number of subscribers unsubscribing, his scheduled lectures and events were progressively canceled, ultimately leading to his resignation as a Seoul City promotional ambassador.

Now, in addition to the previous public transportation-related controversy, unconfirmed allegations regarding Park We's student years have emerged online, reigniting the storm. However, these claims remain at the stage of anonymous netizen accusations, and their veracity requires further confirmation.
