Comedian Shim Hyun-seop Reveals Hilarious Reason for Pre-Marital Chastity: A Taxi Passenger's Comment
South Korean comedian Shim Hyun-seop (심현섭), 55, who married Jung Young-rim (정영림), 11 years his junior, last year, recently shared a funny story about their courtship on a TV show. He recounted how the couple had planned a romantic getaway, but their plans were comically derailed when they were recognized by a passerby at a hotel entrance. The stranger cheered them on, making Shim so embarrassed that he ultimately abandoned their hotel stay, which he jokingly attributed as one of the reasons for their pre-marital chastity.

MBN recently released a preview for its talk show "Dongchimi" (속풀이쇼 동치미), titled "The Reason Shim Hyun-seop Maintained Purity Before Marriage?!" The preview showed Shim sharing amusing tales from his relationship with his wife. He began by jesting that he is now a citizen of Ulsan, having registered his residency there, and enjoys immense popularity among locals. As his wife's family resides in Ulsan, the couple often dated there and established their marital home in the city, earning him the affectionate moniker "Ulsan's Son-in-Law."

The couple met through the reality dating show "Love Master of Joseon" (조선의 연애고수) and became the first pair from the program to successfully marry, garnering significant support from the local community.
Shim revealed his commitment to pre-marital chastity, but as his fame grew, he found himself recognized almost everywhere he went in Ulsan. He chuckled as he recalled, "One time, my girlfriend and I were holding hands at a hotel entrance when a taxi pulled up. The person inside shouted at us, 'Are you two going to a room now? That's great!'
